Objectives of the Mackay Pistol Club

  • To foster and deliver Pistol Shooting in the Mackay and surrounding area.

  • To promote and encourage the sport of Pistol Shooting and Pistol Shooting Queensland/Pistol Australia matches, trials, events and competitions and assist with developing members with the necessary skills of the sport and a sense of sportsmanship and fair play

  • To provide a supportive, enjoyable and safe environment for members.

  • To instruct in pistol and revolver shooting those persons whose livelihood depends wholly or in part on proficiency with a pistol or revolver.

  • To maintain Member Club affiliation status with Pistol Shooting Queensland Ltd.

  • To develop, construct, improve, maintain and manage club facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment for existing and future membe

Pistol Shooting Queensland

​Mackay Pistol Club is affilaiated with Pistol Shooting Queensland.

Pistol Shooting Queensland has some 44 dedicated clubs throughout Queensland associated with it. Pistol Shooting Queensland is associated with Pistol Australia which gives our members the genuine pathway to International competitions including Commonwealth and Olympic Games representation. This affiliation is the only pathway to the Olympics etc.

Pistol Shooting Queensland is the peak body in Queensland for the safe, challenging and rewarding sport of target Pistol Shooting.

Pistol Shooting Queensland's objectives are to promote and co-ordinate target pistol shooting as a sport for competitive challenges and for recreation, for able and disabled competitors.

Target Pistol Shooting is a family sport where anyone aged 11 or older can participate and where age or physical ability doesn't limit your possibilities.

The sport of Pistol Shooting comes under strict safety and Police guidelines which makes our sport extremely safe.

Facilities

Members of the Mackay Pistol Club have access to the Following;

  • Range 1, 50m Pistol and Smallbore Rifle Range with Undercover Firing Line and 20 timer controlled turning Targets.

  • Range 2, 25m Pistol Range with undercover firing line and 10 timer controlled turning Targets.

  • Range 3, 25m Pistol Range with undercover firing line and 10 timer controlled turning Targets.

  • Range 4, 10m Indoor Air Pistol Range.
